2018 Honda Pioneer 1000


— Honda unveiled its 2018 line of Pioneer UTVs with six versions of the Pioneer 1000 with the industry-first automatic six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), four variations of the original Pioneer 700 and the top-selling Pioneer 500 with 50-inch trail capabilities. The 1000 Limited Edition is Matte Grey Metallic for 2018 and has an MSRP of $20,299 with Fox Podium QS3 shocks and I–4WD with smart front diff that sends power to the tire with more grip and hill-start assist. The Pioneer 1000-5 has QuickFlip convertible rear seats, EPS with tilt wheel, Unicam engine, automatic DCT with paddle shifters and self-leveling rear shocks for $16,699. Limited Edition 1000-5s sport Fox QS3 shocks, loaded I–4WD system with braking traction control, beefy front bumper, Bighorn 2.0 radials, extra storage and cup holders in all four doors for $21,899.

The base Pioneer 1000 without EPS is $14,499, and EPS is $1200 more at $15,699. Metallic Blue is a new color choice for the 1000 EPS for 2018.
Active Yellow is the new color choice for Deluxe Pioneer 1000-5s, along with red and Honda Phantom Camo, and Deluxe and Limited Edition 1000s get 27-inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires on two-tone aluminum wheels.
Pioneer 700s ($10,599) are powered by a 700cc single with automotive-style hydraulic torque converter and a three-speed transmission, and $13,699 Deluxe models sport a manual-shift mode with paddle shifters, EPS, painted shock springs and bodywork, and aluminum wheels. Matte Grey Metallic paint is new for 2018 Deluxes.
The $8999 Pioneer 500 has a sporty, 475cc, single engine with a five-speed transmission that can shift automatically or via paddle shifters in manual mode. It easily fits in a full-sized pickup and on 50-inch USFS trails, and it carries 450 pounds of cargo and tows 1000 pounds. Travel is 5.9 inches.
Pioneer 700-4s have the same features as the two-seat versions, but add convertible rear seats for $12,299. Deluxe 700-4s have manual transmission mode with paddle shifters, trick tires and wheels, EPS and a new Pearl Orange color choice for $13,699. Travel is 7.9 inches front and 9.1 inches rear with IRS.
