Acura Debut, Tesla Big Rig, and Energy Savings

Here’s another reason we can’t wait for the North American International Auto Show next month.  We’re getting an early look at the all-new Acura RDX Prototype before it makes its world debut in Detroit.  This is the most extensive Acura redesign in more than a decade.  It clearly shows signs of their "Precision Crafted Performance" philosophy.

Another company is signing up for Tesla’s new electric big rig.  UPS has announced reserving 125 of Tesla’s trucks.  UPS has a history of using trucks powered by a variety of alternative fuels including hybrids, compressed natural gas, and propane.  PepsiCo and Anheuser-Busch have also announced reserving Tesla trucks.  Tesla says production of the electric semis will begin in 2019.

Even though gas prices are lower than they’ve been in recent years, conservation is still important. The 36th edition of the Transportation Energy Conservation Data Book has been released.  Since 1976, it has evaluated current and proposed conservation strategies.
